Not a tragedy [Oct. 16th, 2015|09:42 am]

We have been using peoplesoft for reimbursement and recording time for years. I loathe it.

This spring the reimbursement feature was replaced with "concur" which has all sorts of phone app "simplifications." Sure, fine, happy to stop using peoplesoft for that.

This summer we've been told that the time tracking function will be replaced with "Workday".

Yay, i thought, good bye peoplesoft!

But no. Now there's a message that i will need to record time on projects in peoplesoft, time off in workday.

So ... now we have three systems? This is "unified"????

My nemesis Esmerelda has clearly been at work.

Ugh. Speaking as both an insider and a job seeker, I don't know who is served well by the increasing computerization of the HR function...except for the folks who sell the software.

Once upon a time i logged my time in excel spreadsheets that had clever coding: did i say i worked on a holiday? Up popped an alert!

I have not understood why peoplesoft seemed so less useful than a spreadsheet form.

Also, the staff who have to manage the software and support everyone using the software benefit. Grumble.

Wow. This seems optimized to increase errors and frustration!

I was really impressed, as my level of frustration with peoplesoft all by itself is not insignificant.

fwiw I like concur.
However, it sounds like you need some simplification.

I think i will like concur, although the new credit card model where the company pays the card directly is the biggest win.
