In more selling off the china news (I suppose this is tedious to read about, but it's a bit of an adventure for me):

I found another box with dishes. I can't decide if i'm horrified or.... Hm, i think i'm horrified. The very large platter has two or three chips, barely noticeable. There's a smaller platter, clearly for meat due to the well for juices, but i think it will go nicely with the six person tea set. The two serving bowls can be distributed to one two person set and then added to the tureen with the four person set.

I also spilled wax on the tablecloth i bought for the tea service. I think i can get it out - iron and paper towels - but *curses*.

In good news, photo shoot!

Candlelit setting of the fine china, with tureen in background.

I certainly over-purchased the sparkling wines, since i had pondered having filled champagne flutes in the background. Then there was a sale if one bought six bottles of any wines. So, i did.

I won't be using the inexpensive sparkling wines for the background, though as this seems QUITE sufficient to suggest a romantic and elegant meal. I'll be removing the reflection of the fan from the spoons.

In cat news, Edward and Mr M seem to have had a significant flea attack. It seemed like it came out of nowhere. Christine is managing the pest fighting. The pet store folks have said that "everybody" is having flea issues this summer. It's the first time since we started using Advantage that it has been an issue. Indeed, we have had negligible flea issue for decades. It's been distressing. I think Edward's issues were mainly because he can't quite groom his back, and M just isn't up for grooming at all. Greycie Loo and Luigi (the recent adoptee) seem to be able to keep up with the grooming. Extra Advantage for all.

I need to do some taking care of myself before a mental health day comes up, i believe. Maybe another afternoon off to head to the beach? I think the mountains may be what i need, tho. Ponder.

Oh, nice photo! That will surely sell.

I would love a beach day, but it's just too much driving for me right now. The current fandango I'm doing between Dallas/Austin/Houston is annoying enough.

Our beaches are very different from Gulf beaches! Although, i've no idea if Texas Gulf beaches are like Florida Gulf beaches. Hmmm. Still, hard to imagine the steep rocky shores we've got near you.

On a mailing list someone asked if Waco, which is approximately the destination for Quaker meeting in January, is near Houston. I must be in an ungenerous mood because i thought "look it up yourself!" Some kind person described their drive from beyond Houston to the location, so i can begin to imagine what you're doing. (I've driven through Texas a couple of times so i know it's no Rhode Island.)
